Clearinghouse Annual Consultation

An annual inquiry is a MANDATORY electronic verification of a driver's record with the Clearinghouse, as required of employers of CDL drivers under § 382.701. A limited query determines whether an individual driver's Clearinghouse record has any information about resolved or unresolved drug and alcohol program violations. The general consent of a driver is required to conduct a limited inquiry. COMPANIES MUST CONDUCT ANNUAL INQUIRIES ON ALL ACTIVE DRIVERS AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR AFTER THE PRE-EMPLOYMENT INQUIRY.
